Back about four and a half days now. And I can’t lie, I have never experienced such jet lag. I simply can’t seem to get back in the swing of things. Granted, I only took a single day of recovery before heading back to work, but still. I think I’m starting to wear my years with a little less grace than I once did. I ask no sympathy, though. How do you feel bad for someone who just spent the better part of two weeks drinking with his mates in some of the greatest warehouses in Scotland?
I have a quick malt malt feature tasting note coming later today, then we’ll start digging into trip updates, reviews and some editorializing. Bear with me. Much to come. In the meantime…it’s good to be back.
And yes…I am already planning 2020 trips.
Hi there,
what have you done over there?

Just now I met a little shock.
I was not always in line with their editorial content in the “From the Editors” section but this sudden end… and I have linked them to your place here many times.
Hopefully it is only a moving on or elsewhere. I found their page a source of great information and very entertaining.
As I find yours which goes without saying.

I saw that this morning. Sad news. We’re losing a great resource. Especially the distillery details, Ask The Prof, etc. The Editors’ blurbs are worse than tabloid writing, but with so much solid content, it’s easy to ignore and move on to the good stuff.
And as always, I appreciate your kind words.
Hi there,
not wholly satire

and somthing thoughtful

Indeed I can hardly escape the feeling that “whisky” is becoming shallower every day bit by bit.

I thought the hidden bombshell there was… that Angus MacRaild writes The Whisky Sponge??? Is that right?
Mind. Blown.
Hi there,
that is the way I read that too.

He is. And if you’ve been paying very close attention, there have been clues for a long time. In fact, Serge actually referred to a young man years ago whom he had invited to a particular event, and whom they referred to as the ‘sponge’.
